Boris Nedyalkov's path to data science is anything but ordinary. Driven by a lifelong passion for understanding the universe's laws, he transitioned from physics to data science, bringing his unique modeling expertise to Black Peak Technologies.
What was your first encounter with data science?
It was during my graduate studies in physics, when I needed to process data from my experiments. It required the full range of data science skills, and it was the most crucial part of the scientific work. Analyzing data is like gold prospecting – exciting and full of potential discoveries.
What project are you working on right now?
I'm working on an advanced AI-driven HR Tech product. Specifically, developing a system not just to understand and map skills, but also to grade them. This allows us to match candidates to jobs quickly and accurately.
What will the data science world look like in 5 years, in your opinion?
There's a clear trend toward automation across all business fronts, including data science. More one-click solutions will emerge, but there will still be a need for specialized skills like MLOps and machine learning engineering to handle complex tasks and maintain these automated systems.
What's the best thing about working for Black Peak Technologies?
I enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere very much. The freedom for creative thoughts and opinions. There is a lot of energetic, entrepreneurial spirit that I feel is very important for the nurture of great ideas. It's overall a great place to work in and I’m happy I do so :).
